Currently Crushing : The Blues
If you’ve been following me for a minute, you know I've been singing the blues for a while now. I keep reaching for all shades of the color - from Paynes Gray ( despite the name, it has beautiful inky undertones ) to a punch of almost primary Ultramarine . There is something about this hue that has so much depth and emotion - it pulls you into a clear night sky, or references the depths of the sea.
Incorporating blue into your home is an easy way to create a sense of calm and balance- just what we could all use more of right now. On the other hand, a bold primary shade offers a playful pop of color and can be quite unexpected.

Dreamy right? This is the porcelain kitchen at Tureholm Castle, an estate just south of Stockholm. The home was built in the 1700s and the entire room is hand painted from floor to ceiling in chinoiserie. I’m wondering why I haven't taken a brush to my own walls...
