On Seasons & Change

2020 has been wild. As a global community we’ve felt the heartache of unthinkable tragedies and continue to navigate unexpected hurdles. As I write this we have been home, isolating to help fight the spread of covid-19. I’m hopeful that in a few weeks time, that we’ll be sitting with our loved ones and enjoying our favorite places in town.

I feel like I’ve been self-isolating for a little longer than most. In January, after much thought, I made the decision to leave the company I had been a part of for the last eight years. I wasn’t sure what was next, but felt the compelling need to move forward, even if the unknown felt terrifying/paralyzing.  The need to recharge and find the artist that had been buried over the years. It was time to take a leap and trust that now was the opportunity to create the work and life I had always envisioned for myself.

This quote really resonated with me as I questioned my next step about whether I was making the right choice to pursue my own work:

The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power nor time.  -Mary Oliver

I’ve set out on this new adventure to give my creativity both power and time. Despite the strangeness of 2020, I feel hopeful. Welcome to e.lamb studio, where you’ll find a peak into my world through my collections of original art and textiles. We’ve done a little sprucing up as we grow into ourselves and I hope you’ll enjoy all the new touches - and keep an eye out for even more exciting announcements ahead. I’m so thankful for your support and I hope you’ll discover a little light and whimsy to add to your world.

Or if anyone needs tips on staying home, avoiding contact and overthinking - I've got that too.
