Make Yourself At Home | 001
We could all use a little escapism right about now. These are a few rooms I’m daydreaming about quarantining in…

There is something so satisfying about unexpected pairings, the bolder the better. The mix of both modern and traditional motifs is unexpected, while the color palette ties it all together. I love this quote from designer Beverly Field "I approach every room as a painting and balance it with color,"

GRAPHIC POPS
There are so many details to fall in love with at this a-typical resort Casa Violeta in Nicaragua . The graphic black and white and pops of orange aren’t what you would expect to find at an oceanside property. I’m obsessed with the hand-stenciled baseboards and ceilings.
HEAD TO TOE
This room dressed from head to toe in Fermoie splatter print would be the perfect place to curl up and read a good book.

HAND PAINTED DETAILS
Honestly, this one needs a future post devoted entirely to it. The Fife Arms Hotel in the Scottish Highlands is on my bucket list for many reasons, one is this amazing artist studio suite. With hand painted details covering the walls with patterns and animals, I could see making myself right at home.
OPULENT JUXTAPOSITION
And finally, I’ve got a wildcard for you...hear me out on this one. Drake’s Toronto home was recently featured in Architectural Digest and it is... something else. But I can’t stop thinking about one small detail in the master- bedroom. That bedding…hummingbirds? An unexpected choice after flipping through the rest of the homes opulent gold and black decor. But these aren’t just any hummingbirds. Designer Rafauli customized a hummingbird tapestry by Alexander McQueen for The Rug Company into the custom bedding.
