2021 COMMISSION calendar & process

I’m excited to kick off 2021 by opening up my commission calendar to you! What does this mean? I have a limited amount of spots available to create custom pieces for clients during the year ( typically I fit commissions in between creating larger collections)  I love working with clients on custom pieces, its a true collaboration to create the perfect piece for you or someone you love.

Curious about how the process works? Let’s walk through it…

Working with clients to create something custom is a really special process, and varies with each project. I usually ask you to think about a few pieces I’ve created in the past that you love and what you are responding to. This helps me understand what you are trying to accomplish, and whether I’m the right fit for your project. Typically most projects start with a familiar sentiment …

“ nothing haunts you like the things you didn’t buy”.

Was there a piece you loved and lost ( aka didn’t snag before someone else hit buy?)  I can recreate a piece in the scale that’s right for your home, or even make some color tweaks to match a particular color scheme in a room.

In other cases I’ve had clients come  with a specific idea they have in mind. For instance, a newly married couple loved my “dreamy” landscapes and wanted to commemorate their first Atlanta home with something special. The results are a light and airy dreamscape of the Atlanta skyline.

I love taking the stories I’ve created in my work, and layering them with yours to create something with new meaning

Another client is a fellow bird lover (with a name to match) She had the unique idea to capture all her family members in a portrait…of birds.

With fabric swatches from her home, I was able to create the perfect palette to match her space

Typically the process of commissioning a custom piece takes about 8-12 weeks, although some projects move faster. During this time we’ll communicate through email and I’ll share images of the process. With your feedback, we’ll make tweaks to the final piece to create a piece you’ll treasure for many years to come.
