Spring collection | save the date!
I’m so excited to launch my site in tandem with this new collection of work. I wanted to share a sneak peak of some of my favorites and the stories behind them.
PREVIEW THE COLLECTION BELOW!
Birds of a Feather
As I was working on some more detailed, time-consuming pieces, I started Birds of a Feather as a way to take a break and explore looser marks and a faster pace. I love how playful the marks and color become, creating an abstract pattern.
Rabbit Rhythm
I was really feeling green as I created this body of work - which is new for me! I love this fresh color and the graphic brush marks that seem to dance around.
Dreamscape
Cutting and collaging paper is often how I’ll start concepting and gathering ideas. In this original painting on a stretched canvas, I capture the original look of cut paper through layers of paint. This highly textured piece explores an abstracted landscape through color and shape. Washes of green and blues are layered and marks are explored with brush and pencil. Simplified architecture with tall spindly legs originated in the ‘real world’, but has become abstracted and an important piece of the language I use in my pieces.
TOILE PLANTS
I’ve grown quite attached to these delicate, blue plant studies created for a larger wallpaper design I’m working on. Imagine a modern Toile de Jouy landscape growing up your walls - coming soon!
Cloud buns
With works on paper I feel more spontaneous and explore different pattern ideas that feel like they appear before me. I let the process and materials lead me, and feel a sense of pure delight when I discover a fluffy rabbit floating in the blue sky. Wouldn’t this be a fun wallpaper to cover a nursery in?
I Once Had Eight Cats
No, really. It's true. This playful maze of blue cats is ready for the cat lovers. Watercolor on heavy-weight paper with deckled edges.
