Holiday collection | Dream State

All my thoughts behind (and a preview of) my latest collection, Dream State. available November 16th at 10 AM EST

The process of painting often feels like an attempt to recollect a dream. Pulling bits and pieces from memory while allowing your imagination to drive, dreaming is a ride we can’t really control much like the painting process. I started Dream State’s namesake painting first, the largest in the collection. When I first started working on it, I had no clear direction in mind. There was simply a canvas sitting in my studio, and I felt the need to make a move. Taking my time, I allowed the canvas to evolve in various states until I began to be surprised by the imagery that emerged. The materials guided the process, with the paint's unpredictable qualities taking over before I stepped in to weave a narrative. The end result was a midnight blue sky adorned with dancing figures, drawing inspiration from myths and constellations.

Dream State 24” x 30” on canvas, framed in white floater frame. 864

"Dream State" serves as the connective thread binding each piece in this collection. It grants me the freedom to create organically, finding delightful surprises along the way, all while exploring places and subjects brimming with the rich, jewel-like tones of a dream world. Just as Alice ventured through Wonderland, "Dream State" is a journey through a collection of places and creatures discovered in a surreal place.

Several pieces visit reimagine the circus full magical creatures leading the way. Many of the pieces in the collection on framed in gold floater frames. All pieces are ready to hang.
