new collection | save the date for oct. 22
This collection of work leans into the supernatural...night skies lit with coral moons and golden fireflies...swirls of bold color and beasts that conjure up fables and myths. It feels fitting to be releasing this work in the month of October, with the changing of seasons and another trip around the sun for me, I feel the scorpio mythos creeping into the collection. A dash of astrology and whimsy abound in this work, with winged creatures looking soulfully at you or dancing about in joyful play.
The collection is made up of paintings on canvas in a variety of sizes ranging from a petite 8x10” to a statement making 30” x 40” piece. Many of the pieces are framed in natural maple wood frames.
Here’s a peek at the collection and the stories behind the work…
MIDNIGHT MAGIC | 20 X 16” GALLERY EDGEd CANVAS
Waves of color swirl with gold to create an abstracted, patterned world. Look closely and you might recognize a scaled creature or two…
night swim | 30 x 40” gallery edged canvas
The largest piece in the collection, Night Swim captures a serene scene of swans swimming ( try saying that 3 times fast) in a moonlit lake. I think this piece would look just dreamy over someone’s bed.
summer symphony | 16 x 20” canvas, framed
Gestural strokes of color and washes of blue create a pastoral evening scene. There’s a sense of energy and music of a pastoral world coming alive in the summer night.
SILHOUETTED | 18 x 18” gallery edged canvas
A story emerges as beasts from your fairy-tales are silhouetted against a bold green background. I love the textural nature of the paint in this piece, and the way the piece changes from a story you might know to an abstracted pattern of color and shape
